LIFE HACK: The Lazy Day (Minimalist) Skincare Routine

Posted on Location: ,

Every person needs a lazy day skincare routine. It’s as important, if not more important, than the typical everyday skincare routine with ten plus different products and 15+ steps. Why? Because what do you default to when you get home late, exhausted from a long day and the idea of washing your face feels like an effort? Do it anyway, with less than half the effort? Or do you skip it altogether? I certainly hope not.

TThat moment, the “How long is this going to take, let me hurry up and do this..” feeling, has happened to me more times than I’d like to admit. I’ve gone to bed with mascara still left on the tips of my eyelashes, and the little beads of its residue sprinkled like glitter across my bottom eyelids. I’m confident I’ve half-washed my face and left makeup blended into my hairline. Some nights after a date, dinner with friends, or rendezvous in the city, I retreat to my bedroom and feel the dreaded instance where simply taking off makeup feels like a chore.

What about on a Saturday morning when you simply want to just be! Or any day where you would much rather get started with your day without having to partake in a series of steps before seizing it? Who’s got the answers for those days?

I do, sway. Get into this.

A consistent skincare routine can lead to beautiful, glowing, and vibrant skin that boosts your confidence. They’re addicting to watch through Youtube videos, as various influencers share their favorite face wash, vitamin c serums, hyaluronic acids, and the like .. Does anyone else talk an invisible audience through their skincare routine, or is that just me?

With some popular skin care routines consisting of up five and six different products and 10 – 12 different steps, being consistent with your skincare routine can be overwhelming…

Here’s why the lazy day skincare routine gives you a break without jeopardizing the progress of your skincare journey. This routine is two simple steps: cleanser and oil. Cleanser to pull impurities from the pores, and natural oil blends to protect and nourish the skin until you can resume.

These are my three favorite lazy skin care routines:

1.

  1. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water Cleanser & Makeup Remover
  2. Aloe Vera Oil

2.

  1. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water Cleanser & Makeup Remover
  2. The body oil blend in my shower

The Semi-Lazy Skin Care Routine.

3.

  1. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Water Cleanser & Makeup Remover
  2. Toner
  3. Aloe Vera Oil + Vitamin E Oil Blend

The Micellar Water allows the benefit of removing makeup easily and quickly. Granted, sometimes I have to cleanse my face twice to ensure I’ve thoroughly cleansed. Without question, I can look at the face pad and see that dirt and residue are no longer present on my skin.

Immediately, I follow up with an aloe vera oil, aloe vera, and vitamin e oil blend, or the body oil blend I use in my shower routine. *chef’s kiss*

In the morning, my skin is just as supple, vibrant, and glowy as ever.

I seek a skincare routine that improves and nourishes my skin, provides protection, increases elasticity and appearance (especially if it has anything to do with dark spots or discoloration), and keeps my skin hydrated for as long as possible. I want this, even without the multiple steps and products. I want this even if I’m not buying the expensive Vitamin C serums or any other serum that promises to address discoloration concerns and aging skin.

My mother always assured me less is more. And, while I love indulging in a luxurious skincare routine loaded with firming skin masks, hydrating eye patches, and skin essence. I have to admit, more often than not, she’s right. 😉
